Privacy policy
Last updated: 19.08.2026.
This policy explains what personal information we collect in connection with the 12th International Society of Construction Law Conference (SCLI 2027), why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are
The Society of Construction Law Serbia is the organiser of SCLI 2027 and is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide what information is collected and why.

Who else handles your information
We appoint Miross d.o.o., Majke Jevrosime 19, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia (registration number 07481721, tax identification number 100048877) as our professional conference organiser. They operate the registration system, handle delegate correspondence and manage conference logistics on our instructions. In data protection terms they act as our processor, which means they may only use your information for the purposes we set and may not use it for their own.
Other organisations receive limited information where it is necessary to run the conference. These are listed under “Who we share information with” below.
The information we collect
If you register your interest. When you leave your details on our homepage we collect your first name, last name and email address. If you entered the pre-launch prize draw, we also recorded the date you entered.
If you submit an abstract. We collect your name, email address, organisation, position, country and biography. We collect the title, sub-theme, text, keywords and key point of your abstract. Where you name co-authors, we collect their names and organisations, which you provide on their behalf. We also record the confirmations you give when submitting.
If you register as a delegate. We collect your name, contact details, organisation and position, billing information, your choice of rate and of separately ticketed events, and any dietary requirements or accessibility needs you tell us about. Your name, organisation and position appear in the conference programme. Payment card details are collected and processed by AllSecure and Banca Intesa and are not held by us or by Miross.
If you use the conference app. The app is provided by RoundCube d.o.o. Beograd. We pass it your name and email address only, so that your account can be created. Your name is visible within the app to everyone else using it, including sponsors, so that delegates can identify one another. Anything further you choose to add to your profile, such as your organisation or position, is visible on the same basis.
When you visit this website. Our hosting provider keeps standard server access logs, which include your IP address, the pages requested and the time of the request. We do not use website analytics, advertising trackers or any similar technology.
If you apply to sponsor the conference. We collect the name, position, email address and telephone number of your contact people, your organisation’s registered address, registration number and tax identification number, and any purchase order reference you give us. We use it to assess the application, issue the sponsorship agreement and invoice you, and to deliver the entitlements in your package.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
To administer your registration and provide what you have paid for. Our basis is performance of a contract with you.
To assess sponsorship applications and administer sponsorship. Our basis is performance of a contract with your organisation, and our legitimate interest in corresponding with the individuals who represent it.
To meet dietary and accessibility needs. Where you tell us about a dietary requirement or an accessibility or mobility need, that information may reveal something about your health or your beliefs. We use it only to make the arrangements you have asked for, and we pass it to the venue or caterer only so far as is needed to do so. Our basis is your explicit consent, given when you provide the information. You do not have to provide it, and you may ask us to delete it at any time.
To review abstracts and build the programme. Our basis is our legitimate interest in assembling a conference programme through a fair and documented selection process.
To publish the programme. If your abstract is accepted, your name, organisation, position, country, biography, abstract title and abstract text are published on this website, in the conference programme and in conference marketing. You agree to this when you submit an abstract, and it is set out in the terms in our Call for Abstracts.
To publish the delegate list. The conference programme includes a list of delegates showing name, organisation and position. The programme is provided as a PDF and through the conference app. Our basis is our legitimate interest in helping delegates identify who is present. You may ask to be left off the list at any time before the programme is issued, by contacting scli2027@miross.rs.
To send you conference updates. Where you asked to be kept informed, our basis is your consent. You may withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message we send, or by contacting us.
To keep accounting records. Our basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
To keep the website secure and working. Our basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site against misuse and diagnosing faults.
Who we share information with
We share your information only where it is needed to run the conference:
- Miross d.o.o., as our conference organiser
- AllSecure and Banca Intesa, to take payment
- RoundCube d.o.o. Beograd, to operate the conference app
- Google, which provides the map on our Venue & Travel page and the reCAPTCHA check on the registration form
- The conference venue, where you have told us about an accessibility requirement that the venue needs to arrange
- Our accountants and auditors, and public authorities where the law requires it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not supply sponsors with a delegate list; sponsors attending the conference see the same information in the conference app as any other delegate sees.
Where your information is held
This website and the information submitted through it are hosted in France, with backups held in Lithuania. The registration system operated by Miross is hosted in Germany. The conference app is hosted in a data centre in Frankfurt, Germany, operated by DigitalOcean. All are within the European Economic Area. Google, which provides the reCAPTCHA check on the registration form, operates outside the European Economic Area, and where information is transferred outside Serbia or the European Economic Area we do so on the basis of appropriate safeguards.
Serbia is not the subject of a European Commission adequacy decision. Serbian law provides protection for personal information under the Law on Personal Data Protection, which follows the same principles as the General Data Protection Regulation, and Serbia is a party to the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data.
How long we keep it
Registration and payment records are kept for seven years, in line with Serbian accounting and tax legislation, and are then deleted.
Abstracts and speaker information are kept as part of the permanent record of the conference. Accepted abstracts and the biographies published alongside them form part of the published proceedings.
Unsuccessful abstracts are kept until twelve months after the conference and then deleted.
Marketing contact details are kept until you withdraw your consent or ask us to stop, and are then deleted.
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and then overwritten.
Photography and filming
The conference will be photographed and filmed, and the images and recordings may be used in conference reports, on this website, on our social media and in publicity for future conferences. Our basis for this is our legitimate interest in recording and promoting the conference.
If you would prefer not to appear, tell us at scli2027@miross.rs before the conference or speak to a member of the conference team at the registration desk, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Photography in plenary sessions may capture the room as a whole.
Cookies
This website sets only the cookies necessary for it to work, used by our caching system to serve pages efficiently. Apart from the map described below, it does not set analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner appears.
The Venue & Travel page includes a map provided by Google. Loading that page sends your IP address to Google and Google may set its own cookies. If you would prefer not to, do not visit that page, or block third-party cookies in your browser.
The registration system operates on a separate platform, which may set its own cookies. That platform also uses Google reCAPTCHA to check that registrations are made by a person rather than an automated system; reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you interact with the page, and is provided by Google. Information about those is available within that system.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- have inaccurate information corrected
- ask us to delete information, where we have no continuing reason to hold it
- ask us to restrict how we use your information
- object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests
- receive information you gave us in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these, contact scli2027@miross.rs. We will respond within the period required by law. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Withdrawing consent to marketing does not affect your registration. If you have already registered and you ask us to delete your information, we may need to keep enough to meet our legal obligations and to administer your attendance.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Serbian supervisory authority:
Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection
Bulevar kralja Aleksandra 15
11120 Belgrade
Serbia
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the conference develops. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change we will say so on this page.
